This is a very disturbing article about three teenagers who participate in self-mutilation, self-injury or cutting. There are thousands of teenagers who hide scars from self-inflected cuts under their jeans and long sleeve shirts.
One of the girls is named Tricia Jeter; she did this as a relief, a sense of control and a way to dull the pain inside. She now knows that the razor blade will not solve her problems. This type of problem usually begins in adolescence, when youngsters deal with feelings of low self-esteem and have problems of expressing themselves.
