While reviewing the Activity Handbook for Teaching Psychology, volume 1 we became interested in the social psychology experiments. While reviewing these experiments we came across project 67 by Joan W. Walls. The basic concept of this project is based on the expression of emotions between the sexes, non-verbal communications and the power of it. In the write up of this experiment Joan W. Walls used smiling as an example of one way to explore people’s emotions and reactions to us as experimenters without actually having to talk to them. The reason that we found this experiment to be particularly interesting because all three of us seem to be happy all the time and like to smile a lot, therefore we thought this experiment sounded like it would fit us quite well.
